The Hicks Racing team competed in the Mid-American Super Truck Series for 3 years. During that time, they competed at 12 different tracks throughout Wisconsin. These tracks ranged from 1/4-mile and 1/2-mile ovals to the 4-mile road course at Road America. Just like the years spent in the Mid-American Stock Car Series, Jason was always competitive and was a threat to win at every event.

Jason's Super Truck feature wins were achieved at Marshfield Speedway, Wisconsin International Raceway, and Road America.  His win at Marshfield marked the first time in series history for a driver to win a Mid-American Super Truck race with a Ford powered Ford bodied truck.

Jason's Fast Time Qualifying lap occurred at Wisconsin International Rawceway, and was fast enough to break the old Track Record set earlier that year.

Jason was 5th in the overall point standings in 1998 and claimed "Rookie of the Year" honors.

Jason was introduced to the Super Truck Series at the end of the 1997 season.  Team Transport was looking for a veteran driver of the tricky D-shaped Wisconsin International Raceway to step into the 1997 Ford F-150 for the Pennzoil USA Truck Nationals.  Jason was sought out and proved to be the right choice as he finished in the second spot in his very first start in the Super Truck Series.  The following year, Jason drove the same Ford F-150 for Paul Laabs of Abbotsford, WI.

As a result of Jason's success from the 1998 season, he was offered a ride for the 2000 season with Gary Sevenans of Council Grove, KS.  Gary and the Hicks Racing team decided to run only selected races, due to their Super Late Model involvement.  Jason had many fine finishes at the selected tracks, of which none were more exciting than his win at Road America.  The Mid-American Series used a format that included the cars and trucks on the course at the same time.  Everyone was lined up on the grid through a 3 lap qualifying session the day before.  Jason qualified 7th with only 3 laps of practice from that qualifying session.  After starting the race in Row 2, Jason had moved into the second spot after lap 1.  He began clicking off laps much faster than he had in qualifying and ran strong until the checkered flags waved.  Jason was second in the overall race and first in class in his second race back in the truck series.

During the 2001 season, Jason drove the same #16 Ford F-150 in 5 races.  The main event for the season was the race on July 8th at Road America.  Coming off a good run last year, Jason had another podium finish by taking home third place overall and second in the trucks.  He began the weekend by qualifying third overall and second in class to Dick Trickle, his teammate for the weekend.  After starting in the 5th row, Jason had moved into second spot at the half-way point.  With the leader in sight, his clutch went out with only 2 laps remaining.  Dick Trickle had made his way past Jason on the last lap to finish second overall and first in the trucks.

Jason and Dick Trickle became teammates through the owner of Road America. Gary Sevenans was contacted because he had two trucks, one of which was very competitive the year before. Jason and his dad actually set up the truck for Dick at their shop. Dick was extremely confident when arriving at the track knowing Jason won this race in 2000.

Due to the fact that Jason and Dick’s trucks were so closely matched, qualifying just a few hundredths away from each other, they had spent a lot of time discussing strategies. Since they both started in the back, they assisted each other until they got to the front. Once that happened, they were both fast enough to win the race. If Jason had not lost his clutch, he would have two wins in two starts at Road America.
